Indonesia's Mt Lewotobi Eruption (Laki Laki) - June-2025

Mount Lewotobi Laki Laki erupted on 17 June 2025 at 5:35pm local time in Bali (7:35pm AEST). This caused ash to rise more than 11km into the sky. 

Indonesian authorities have updated the volcanic threat level to the highest level of 4 for the volcano. This has led to flight delays and cancellations throughout Indonesia, including flights from Australia.

What this means for policy coverage 

If you purchased your single-trip policy before 7:35pm AEST on 17 June 2025 

Subject to the benefits, terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your Product Disclosure Statement (“PDS”), you may be able to make a claim under your policy if you or your travel plans are directly affected. 

The easiest way to make a new claim is to log in at huddleinsurance.com/au and follow the steps.

If you purchased your single-trip policy after 7:35pm AEST on 17 June 2025 

There is no cover for claims arising from this event under your policy. That’s because when you purchased your policy, this event had already happened. 

Your insurance policy doesn’t cover you for events that already occurred or you knew were going to impact your travel at the time you purchased your policy or booked your trip.
